About · The founder
LaïlaBen Achouba
Founder, Islamic Art of Living
Publisher, Layl wa Nahar Éditions, its imprint
A sociologist by training, she also holds a research master's degree in religion and society. She was raised in France and shaped by Islam.
An entrepreneur, she founded Outsiders, in consulting and in training. For more than a decade, she led change management with companies and public institutions, to fight inequality and to make room for everyone in the world of work. She learned to look at the whole rather than the fragment.
As a photographer too, she knows that everything is a matter of perspective, and that light is a choice: where it falls, and how much of it you let in, decides what is seen.
She built herself on more than one foundation, as one construction rather than a divided identity.
Layl wa Nahar Éditions was born from that gaze. It tells Muslim identity and civilization from within, and reinvents nothing: it sets what has always been there in a new light.
The house's first title, coming this winter, carries that vision: an object worthy of what it holds, so that the beauty outside reflects the richness within. It is an invitation to the Ummah, Muslims around the world, to stand with pride and conviction in who they are and in the beauty of what they carry. And to all those curious about Islam, an invitation to look again, in this new light.
Honoring the past, inspiring the future.
